The Meaning of Accreditations for Business Schools - the debate

On November 14, 2022, the first international expert debate entitled The Meaning of Accreditations for Business Schools was held.

The online event was organized by the International Cooperation Center as part of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business.

The host of the debate was Prof. dr hab. Bogusława Drelich - Skulska, Vice-Rector for Accreditation and International Cooperation, and the moderator was Dr. Anna H. Jankowiak, prof. UEW, Director of the International Cooperation Center.

The distinguished guests representing the most important institutions accrediting business schools in the world were the keynote speakers:
  • Professor Danica Purg, CEEMAN President,
  • Doctor Timothy S. Mescon, Executive Vice President and Chief Officer for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, AACSB,
  • Professor Barbara Sporn, Director, EFMD Program Accreditation
  • Professor Han G. van Dissel, Dean of the Faculty of Economics & Business, University of Amsterdam, who is also a mentor of our University in the process of obtaining AACCSB accreditation.

Several issues were discussed during the debate, including: the future of business education, the social impact of universities, teaching in the turbulent times of the pandemic and the role of accreditation for the development of universities. English was the language of the debate.
